Another brand of drop-side cribs has been recalled.
Health Canada is warning parents to stop using certain cribs made by Generation 2 Worldwide immediately. The affected products, which also carry the name ChildESIGNS, were manufactured in the United States and China.
About 1,200 of the recalled cribs were sold in Canada between 2001 and 2004 at major retailers across the country, including The Bay and Sears, and have the model numbers 592081, 592681 and 597431.
The plastic hardware can break or deform causing the drop-side to detach. The mattress support can also detach from the crib frame, which poses an entrapment hazard.
The problems have been linked to three infant deaths in the U.S. No injuries have been reported so far in Canada.
