Canadians more optimistic about financial future than Americans: poll

TORONTO, Ont. – Canadian consumers are more confident about the future than their counterparts in the United States.

A new Harris/Decima poll for Investors Group found three quarters of Canadians believe they will personally be better off financially next year.

About 60 per cent said they feel the Canadian economy will improve over the next five years.

Also, about half of Canadians said now is a good time to make a major purchase.
