Two Toronto men arrested for attempted fraud

Two Toronto men are under arrest in Durham region, following the discovery of ATM tampering equipment during a routine traffic stop.

A police officer stopped a newer model Mercedes near the municipality of Clarington on Wednesday, after he noticed the vehicle’s license plate was loose.

Inside the van, police discovered a miniature camera and an overlay device, both commonly used in ATM frauds. Two fraudulent bank cards were also found.

The two men face several charges, including unlawful possession of credit card data, possessing a credit card forgery device, and attempted fraud over $5,000.
