Three TTC Workers Hurt In Early Morning Accident

Three TTC workers were injured, one seriously, when a streetcar rammed a transit works truck early Wednesday.
The accident happened around 5am on the Gerrard Street bridge over the Don Valley Parkway. Two of the workers were in front of their pickup doing some track maintenance when the streetcar struck their truck from behind, sending the workers into another vehicle in front of them.
The person who suffered serious injuries is expected to be ok.
The bridge was closed temporarily but reopened not long after the incident.
And another accident prompted a road closure early Wednesday.
A tractor-trailer carrying a load of bread apparently hit the guardrail on the westbound 401 ramp to the 409 around 3am.
Authorities closed the ramp as they cleaned up an oil spill after the accident. The area reopened at 6:30am.
The driver of the truck wasn’t seriously hurt and is facing a careless driving charge.
