An environmental group wants to take a peek into your cosmetics and personal care products.
The David Suzuki Foundation wants Canadians to register these products, ranging from shampoos to eyeliners, in an effort to find out just how much toxic chemicals they contain.
Individuals are able to submit their product ingredients online by logging on to the David Suzuki website.
“It’s not uncommon for a single person to use 10 or more personal care products daily,” Lisa Gue, environmental health policy analyst for the Foundation, said in a press release.
However, some of those products have industrial chemicals, including carcinogens, pesticides, reproductive toxins, plasticizers and degreasers.
Researchers will present their findings in September, along with recommendations for protecting Canadians from harmful chemicals.
