Five Arrested After Violent Robbery Spree

Months after a violent GTA-wide bank robbery spree began, police have arrested five people they say are responsible.

In early February, the bandits allegedly robbed two banks in one day. Less than two weeks later, it was three in a day.

A fed up Canadian Bankers Association put up a $50,000 reward for their capture.

And police stepped up their investigation, fearing the gang – which allegedly pistol-whipped tellers and forced customers to the ground – would eventually kill someone.

Last month, undercover officers tailed the suspects on the 401 all the way to Windsor, where the gang allegedly jumped out of the car and robbed a bank.

Police arrested four men and one woman from the GTA after they tried to flee in their getaway car.
