Fourth Man Arrested In Don Jail Murder

A fourth man has been arrested in connection with an alleged murder at the Don Jail.
Kevon Phillip, 24, was found unconscious at the Gerrard Street facility on January 2 and later died in hospital.
Christopher Fearon, 26, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder on April 16.
Nixon Nirmalendran, 20, Nathaniel Grant, 25, and Said Mohamed, 22, have also been charged in Phillip’s death.
Phillip was being held pending an immigration hearing. He allegedly had 25 prior convictions, seven of them for possession of property obtained by crime.
His death marked Toronto’s first homicide of 2010.
This is the second death at the prison since November when 32-year-old Jeffrey Munro was allegedly beaten to death by three other inmates.
The week Munro was killed, another 32-year-old inmate was severely beaten and hospitalized.
