Toronto cops need help tracking down two suspects in robbery investigation

TORONTO, Ont. – Toronto police are on the lookout for two suspects who mugged an elderly man on the Bloor-Danforth subway line this past weekend.

It happened at 8:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to investigators, Yusuf Hizel, 79, was on the eastbound TTC train, which is when two men asked him for change. Hizel told them he did not have any.

It is alleged the suspects then grabbed him and stole his wallet.

Hizel was unable to reach the panic assistance alarm. He tried to fight off the suspects and called out for help.

“I screamed to the passengers but they ignored it. The train was almost half full,” he told CityNews.

Hizel’s nose was cut during the attack.

Both suspects fled at Chester station.

Officers’ found Hizel’s wallet on Danforth Avenue; however, his cash was gone.

Both suspects are described as:

– Black
– 20-years-old
– 5’8″

They were last seen wearing all black. There was a design or writing on the chest of one or both suspects’ jackets.
