Two year old boy drowns in Kitchener pool

KITCHENER – Police have confirmed that a two year old boy has drowned in a backyard pool on Pinehurst Crescent in Kitchener.

Officers were called to the home – reportedly where the boy’s grandparents live – around 2:00 p.m. Thursday afternoon.

The circumstances surrounding the drowning are not yet known.

Police will not release any other information, as they wait for the boy’s family to return from a trip.

An investigation is ongoing, and an autopsy has been scheduled for Friday.
