Rabid bat found near Lake Simcoe

GEORGINA, Ont. – Those headed to Lake Simcoe this weekend are being warned about bats.
The warning follows the discovery of a rabid bat in the town of Georgina, on the southern tip of the lake.
Rabies is a deadly disease, which can affect your central nervous system. It is transferred through the saliva of an animal.
Officials tell people not to approach an injured bat, or try to touch it with bare hands.
