Toronto police removed a body from the city’s waterfront shortly after 1pm Sunday afternoon
Police say the body is encased in concrete, inside a barrel. It was located along Queens Quay and Jarvis, right by the Redpath Sugar Factory.
At this point, there’s no word on the gender or identity of the remains, but sources say the body is not believed to be of a child.
Police say they are treating this as a homicide and say a group of people are responsible. They also said they acted on a tip from the public.
The remains will now be transported to determine the cause of death.
