Toronto Opens Its Doors This Weekend

Countless Torontonians are getting the VIP treatment this weekend, as the city opens the doors to some of its most famous buildings.

The 11th annual “Doors Open” event officially kicked off Friday night at the ROM with a reception hosted by CityNews reporter Roger Petersen.

In all, 150 buildings of cultural, historical and architectural significance will be accessible Saturday and Sunday. Since the event started in 2000, 1.5 million people have participated.

Some of the more notable participants include the Toronto Archives, the new garden on the podium roof of City Hall, the National Ballet School, Second City, the Regent Park one walking tour.

On Sunday, for the first time, you can even check out Citytv and OMNI’s new home at Yonge and Dundas Square.
