Search Continues For Missing Boaters On Georgian Bay

The OPP and Coast Guard will resume their search for two boaters who disappeared on Georgian Bay Wednesday evening.

The search was called off around 2am Thursday morning and started again at 7am. Police are concentrating their efforts near Christian Island, northeast of Cedar Point.

There were three men in the small aluminum boat that sank. One of them managed to swim to shore, but as he was making his way back to land he looked back and noticed his friends were gone.

Cottagers saw the boat capsize and called 911. The young man who made it to shore was treated and released from hospital.
