Man Dies After Etobicoke Assault

A 35-year-old man died on Friday, almost a week after he was left in a coma on an Etobicoke street.

Police say in the early hours of Saturday, June 12, the victim, Terry Rideout, got into a verbal fight with another man, who knocked him unconscious.

A bystander walking in the Lake Shore Blvd. W. and Islington Ave. area found the Toronto man lying in the street and contacted police.

He was taken to hospital, but succumbed to his injuries on Friday.

Before Rideout died, 30-year-old Jason Miller was charged with aggravated assault and assault with a weapon. The offences will likely be upgraded.
