A Torontonian could be the next big thing on the big or small screen.
NBC Universal is looking to tap in to the Toronto talent pool in an effort to cast more ethnically-diverse actors for a host of new films and shows, including “Warehouse 13” and “Covert Affairs”. Other networks are reportedly also involved in the call, including CBS, ABC and Fox.
On Wednesday the networks held a casting call for professional and unionized actors. On Thursday the auditions were open to the public.
The casting call didn’t officially open until 9am but there was a lineup outside the Cinespace Studios at 345 Carlaw Ave. by 7am.
“This is the first time I’d ever heard of anything like this and the opportunity’s great,” Orem Williamson said.
“It’s a chance. It’s a shot in the dark. If something happens out of it, great. If not, then we had a really great experience,” Shara Kim said.
