Black bear making tracks to Cochrane

Fish and wildlife officers are searching for a black bear near Cochrane that caused quite a scene in N.W. Calgary Thursday afternoon.
It was first spotted in the Tuscany area around 1:15 p.m. and then near the Lynx Ridge golf course in Bearspaw.
Dave Ealey, a spokesman with Alberta Sustainable Resource Development, tells 660News if fish and wildlife officers find the bear, they will monitor the situation to see what potential there is for conflict with people.
Ealey says if there are any safety concerns, wildlife officers may have to subdue the bruin using a tranquilizer.
He says homeowners can help deter bears from their property by cleaning up messy barbecues, garbage and fruit that has fallen from trees.
