Toronto Public Library looking to install kiosks at Union Station

You can get food and drinks through vending machines — but library books?

The Toronto Public Library is looking at installing an automated library kiosk at Union Station.

Toronto public library official Anne Bailey said the kiosks look like vending machines that can hold books, paperbacks, hard covers, CDs and DVDs that can be borrowed with a swipe of a library card.

Simple library kiosks are already in place in Ottawa, and city councillor Maria McRae said she believes they are boosting literacy.
