Mafia hitman says he had a code for killings

A convicted hitman involved in the slayings of several Ontario mobsters said he had a code of conduct when carrying out his contracts.

Ken Murdock, 47, who’s currently serving a life sentence, told The Toronto Star one strict rule he abided by was never killing his victims in front of their wives and children.

Murdock said when he gunned down Niagara Falls mobster Carmen Barillaro in 1997, he waited outside his target’s house for hours until Barillaro’s wife and children went shopping.

So far, Murdock has served 10 years of a life sentence for three gangland hits. He will be eligible for full parole in December 2011.
