Students can now rent books instead of buying

This fall, students on all three University of Toronto campuses will be able to rent text books instead of buying them.

It’s a move that could save students as much as 40 per cent on the cost of text books.

The books can then be returned at the end of the year.

A bookstore survey last year found that more than 65 per cent of students were interested in renting books, rather than buying, The Toronto Star said.

It can all be done online.

The text book rental program has been in operation for years in the U.S. but Canadian Universities and Colleges started to get on board only after studying the program south of the border.
