Police identify body found in vehicle pulled from Hamilton harbour

HAMILTON, Ont. – Hamilton Police have identified the body of a man who was found inside a car pulled from the city’s harbour, off of the H.M.C.S. Haida property, Sunday.

Police say the body was that of 28-year-old Paul Michael Foster, who had previously been reported missing since January 2010.

A dive team located the vehicle, Saturday, submerged in almost eight metres of water, said police.

The vehicle was pulled out of the water, just before 7:30 p.m., at Pier 9 off of Catharine Street North.

Once on dry land, a body was discovered inside the vehicle and the case was handed over to the Hamilton Police Criminal Investigators.

The body was removed and taken to the Hamilton General Hospital morgue where the autopsy was conducted.

The results of the autopsy showed no signs of foul play.
