Hazel McCallion wraps up testimony at inquiry

MISSISSAUGA, Ont. – Mississauga mayor Hazel McCallion has wrapped up her testimony at the inquiry looking into conflict-of-interest allegations surrounding a failed land deal involving her son.

The 89-year-old insists she followed the municipal conflict of interest act, which only states politicians cannot vote on projects which financially affect family members.

The inquiry is now in recess until November when policy experts will testify about current conflict-of-interest rules.

McCallion is running for a 12th term as mayor.
