Fatal crash in Ancaster leaves 2 dead

ANCASTER, Ont. – Two young men have been pronounced dead after an early morning crash in Ancaster.

The car was travelling at a high speed when it crashed into a hydro pole. The pole snapped and part of it was launched three-quarters of the way into the car, said police.

The driver was identified as a Toronto male in his early 20’s. He was pronounced dead on arrival to the hospital.

The passenger was pronounced dead at the scene, but emergency personnel had to leave the body in the car until hydro workers could stabilize the live wires.

The crash happened at around 3 a.m. on Wilson East at Lower Lions Club Road.

No names have been released.
