Two teens have been charged in connection with Thursday’s shooting at central Tech High School, CityNews has confirmed.
Police are still hunting for the shooter and weapon in this case, but two 17-year-old boys are now facing charges in the shooting that left another 17-year old with a minor injury.
Police wouldn’t reveal exactly what those charges are. The case is under a publication ban, meaning only certain details can be released.
Gunfire broke out at Central tech around 1pm on Thursday, causing the more than 2, 000 students to be placed under lockdown for three-and-a-half- hours.
The incident began when three teenaged boys were in a school stairwell and one of them got into a fight with another group of teens.
One of the three fired a gun, causing everyone to flee from the scene.
Two boys from the first group were arrested at the school later that day.
The victim sustained a slight burn wound to the temple.
The Toronto District School Board has said the victim, along with the two others questioned by police are not students at Central Tech.
