Thieves In Costume Hold Up North York Bank

Three masked and armed bandits robbed a bank on Leslie Street just south of Finch Avenue Friday afternoon. Toronto Police confirm one shot was fired during the heist, apparently at a safe lock.
The robbers stormed into the Bank of Montreal at 4797 Leslie St and instructed everyone inside to get down on the floor. They then hopped over the counter and emptied the tills into bags, according to witness Gordon Hann, who was inside when the heist went down.
Hann also said the men were wearing Halloween skeleton costumes and had their faces covered.
“One shot went off,” he said, noting there were about 12 people in line in front of him just before the robbery happened.
“They didn’t threaten they just said ‘Everybody down’. That was all.”

Const. Tony Vella said no serious injuries were reported, but one female employee was assaulted.
“A bank employee sustained some bruising and soreness,” he told CityNews.ca.
“One teller was pushed by one of the suspect. She fell and sustained minor injuries. She was taken to hospital.”
“A quantity of cash was obtained,” he adds. “We don’t release the amount that was taken.”
The suspects may have fled in an orange car.
