Health Canada is issuing a recall of more than 2, 000 children’s car seats.
Chaperone-brand infant’s car seats, made by Britax are being recalled due to a problem with the harness chest clip.
The plastic harness clip can break, creating sharp edges and making it easy for small children to choke.
There has been one complaint in Canada and four in the U.S. No serious injuries have been reported.
The affected seats were manufactured between April 2009 and May 2010.
To determine is a seat is affected by the recall, check the back of the chest clip. If it has the letters “PC,” customers should contact Britax for a repair kit.
Affected seats have the model numbers and are being recalled:
- E9L69P2
- E9L69P3
- E9L69P5
About 2, 350 of the seats were sold nationwide. They were manufactured in China.
Affected customers can contact the manufacturer at 1-888-427-4829 or online here.
