One of Canada’s most notorious serial killers declared Tuesday that he will not apply for parole ever again.
70-year-old Clifford Olson was denied parole again Tuesday morning, Olson’s parole was also rejected in 2006. The parole board concluded that he was still a threat to society.
“This is the final time, never again” said Olson.
The victims and their family members were at Olson’s latest hearing to give victim-impact statements. They said Olson should not be allowed any more time in the spotlight.
It was said that Olson showed no sign of remorse.
Olson has served 25 years in prison as a part of his life sentence after being convicted of the murders of 11 young people in British Columbia in the early 1980’s.
The correctional team said they believed that if Olson was released, he could surely murder again.
According to the law, he has the right to seek parole and request an audience every two years.
