Whitby Man Arrested At U.S. Border On 1995 Warrant

A Canadian man on his way to a New York mall saw his shopping trip cut short after border agents discovered he’s wanted in Florida on a 15-year-old warrant.
Now 40-year-old Franco Nardolillo of Whitby, Ont., is being held in a New York jail and facing extradition to Fort Lauderdale.
Customs and Border Protection officers say Nardolillo was crossing the Rainbow Bridge into Niagara Falls Thursday when a check of his name brought up a 1995 warrant charging him with grand theft and possession of stolen property.
Nardolillo was turned over to Niagara Falls police and is being held in the Niagara County jail pending extradition to Florida.
Jail and police officials don’t know if he has a lawyer. No one answered the phone at his house Friday.
