Lotto Max $50 million payout to be delayed

TORONTO, Ont. – The OLG reports that there will be a delay in the payout of the $50 million prize from the December 31 Lotto Max draw.

Tuesday afternoon, OLG officials said the delay is due to additional people coming forward and claiming an interest in a portion of the prize.

According to officials, a rigorous prize claim review process needs to be completed before any prize is paid out, and they want to ensure the right prize is being paid to the right people.

Still, the lottery corporation confirms there was only one winning ticket in the December 31 draw, it was validated at a retail location in Toronto and a large group is making the claim.

The prize claim review process is now underway.
