TORONTO, Ont. – The winter storm warning has ended for Toronto and most of the GTA, Wednesday.
But, it is still a slow go out there because of the snow that has already fallen.
Convoys of snowplows are fanned out across the GTA, and people are being asked not to park on the street so the clean up crews can’t get the job finished faster.
Myles Currie with Toronto Transportation told 680News the crews are making progress.
“Well, we’ve completed two rounds of plowing on our main roads and expressways, and we are now moving into the local side streets. They’ll take about 18-20 hours to clean up all the side streets, and earlier this morning, we dispatched our sidewalk plows and they’ll be going for the next 18 hours cleaning up the sidewalks,” Currie said.
And a reminder from Toronto Traffic Services, if you’re parked on roads with streetcar tracks, make sure to leave enough room for the streetcar to get by or you’ll get towed.
The winter storm warning has ended for:
- City of Toronto
- Burlington – Oakville
- Halton Hills – Milton
- Mississauga – Brampton
- Caledon
The winter storm warning continues for:
- Barrie – Collingwood – Hillsdale
- Midland – Coldwater – Orr Lake
- Orillia – Lagoon City – Washago
