WINDSOR – A 24-year-old Windsor man has been acquitted on a manslaughter charge. The jury deliberated for less than two hours before coming back with the verdict in Mark Curtis’s trial.
Curtis began to cry on hearing the not guilty verdict. He had been charged with manslaughter in the death of 47-year-old Robert Heil.
Heil had been breaking into cars and tried to break into Curtis’s car, not realizing Curtis was inside, in April 2008.
Curtis got out of the car and punched Heil once and drove away.
