Tentative deal averts strike today at Brock University in St. Catharines

ST. CATHARINES, Ont. – A strike was averted at Brock University in St. Catharines, Ont., early today.
Bargaining teams from the university and CUPE Local 4207 reached a tentative deal just before 2 a.m.
It covers more than 800 teaching assistants, part-time instructors, markers and lab demonstrators.
Details of the tentative agreement are not being released pending a ratification vote.
The union is recommending the agreement be accepted.
Job security, workload and wages were major issues in negotiations.
