PICKERING, On. – Durham Regional police said officers used a taser to subdue a man after they were threatened and assaulted during a domestic dispute in Pickering.
A teenager called 911 to report an armed male had broken into their house, Monday night. The suspect was reportedly looking for a woman in the ValleyFarm Road and Finch Avenue area home, police said.
The woman managed to escape to a neighbour’s house; however, the armed man assaulted a male inside the home and caused extensive property damage, police said.
After tasering the suspect, officers arrested the man. He was treated in hospital for a non life-threatening injury he sustained in the home before police arrived.
A 36-year-old Pickering man is facing numerous assault and weapons-related charges.
