DETROIT — A police report says Jalen Rose, a former Michigan and NBA player who had a stint with the Toronto Raptors, performed poorly on several tests to determine if he was drunk after rolling his Cadillac Escalade on a snowy Michigan road.
The Associated Press obtained the report Wednesday through a Freedom of Information request from West Bloomfield Township police. It details Rose’s difficulty in following movement with his eyes, trouble maintaining his balance and failing to hold his foot off the ground for 30 seconds.
The report also says Rose told police he didn’t drink any alcohol the night of the March 11 crash about 32 kilometres north of Detroit.
Rose’s blood-alcohol level two hours after the crash was 0.088 per cent. Michigan’s legal limit is 0.08.
Rose and a female passenger weren’t injured.
