Man killed in Mississauga crash, son critically injured

A single-car crash on a quiet residential street in Mississauga claimed the life of a 47-year-old father and has left his 18-year-old son fighting for his life in hospital.
The accident happened around 11 p.m. Wednesday when a Pontiac Fiero slammed into a tree on Shawnmarr Road, near Lakeshore Road West and Mississauga Road.
Emergency crews had a difficult time freeing the teen from the wreckage.
The cause of the crash is still under investigation and police are looking at a number of factors, including speed.
