Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling has unveiled details of a heavily-guarded secret project called “Pottermore.”
Pottermore is a free website that builds an exciting online experience around the reading of the Harry Potter books.
The site won’t officially launch until October, but fans can come back on July 31 to find out how they can get the chance to enter Pottermore early.
Rowling made the highly-anticipated announcement on YouTube at 7 a.m. Thursday.

She said the seven Harry Potter novels will also be available as e-books for the very first time exclusively through Pottermore.
Rowling also said she will also participate in the site, sharing information she’s been hoarding for years about the world of Harry Potter.
The site was immediately slammed with e-mail requests from people trying to get the chance to join early before its official launch in the fall.
There was a lot of talk about this on Twitter. One fan wrote: “More people should be up for #pottermore, this is more important than the #royalwedding.”
Another fan wrote: “I really don’t understand what Pottermore is, but I will blindly follow JKR off a cliff if she tells me to.”
All this comes ahead of the final installment of the Harry Potter saga — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — set to hit theatres on July 15.
