Leafs sign Scrivens to one-year deal

The Toronto Maple Leafs have signed goaltender Ben Scrivens to a one-year contract.

Scrivens, 24, played 33 games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies this past season posting a record of 13-12-5, a goals against average of 2.33, a save percentage of .924 and two shutouts. He also played 13 games for the Reading Royals of the ECHL where he earned a record of 10-3-0, a 2.23 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. The native of Spruce Grove, Alberta was selected to represent Reading at the 2011 ECHL All-Star Game.

The Leafs originally signed Scrivens as a free agent on April 28, 2010.
