Police identify victim in Etobicoke homicide

Toronto police have identified a young man killed during a shooting in Etobicoke Friday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 9:50 p.m. outside an apartment complex on Capri Road, near The East Mall.

Police tell CityNews.ca the victim suffered numerous gunshot wounds to the chest. He was rushed to hospital, where he later died.

Investigators have identified the victim as Anthony Smalling, 23, of Toronto.

Investigators are looking for three vehicles seen fleeing from the scene. One is a white, two-door Honda Civic. The other two are simply described as dark coloured sedans.

A post-mortem exam is scheduled for Sunday.
