BERLIN — Shinji Okazaki’s stunning late goal polished off a 3-0 win for Stuttgart at home to Schalke in the Bundesliga on Saturday.
The Japan striker scored in the 89th minute, 10 minutes after coming on as a substitute. He controlled a long crossfield pass with his right foot, cut infield and unleashed an unstoppable 18-meter (yard) shot with his left.
Cacau opened the scoring in the 37th, with Martin Harnik adding another in the 56th.
Two goals from Patrick Helmes helped Wolfsburg to a 3-0 win over his hometown club Cologne.
Werder Bremen won 2-0 against Kaiserslautern, Hannover beat Hoffenheim 2-1, and Sascha Moelders scored twice for Augsburg in a 2-2 draw with Freiburg in his club’s first ever Bundesliga game.
