Rogers to bring FX Network to Canada

LOS ANGELES – If you’re a fan of hit American network shows like Sons of Anarchy and The Shield, you already know the FX Network carries some of the most popular available American television programming.
A new deal announced Saturday between Rogers Media and FX Networks means Rogers will be bringing the critically acclaimed network to Canada this fall.
The new network will launch on November 1 and go under the name FX Canada.
Designed to delivery the highly acclaimed programming of FX Network to Canadian audiences, it will feature original FX series, U.S. acquired movies, original Canadian programming and Canadian sporting events.
“FX complements Rogers Media’s strong portfolio of broadcast assets such as Citytv, OLN and Rogers Sportsnet and showcases our commitment to building upon our television business,” commented Scott Moore, President of Broadcasting, Rogers Media Inc. “There is a strong appetite in Canada for FX’s content and Rogers is thrilled to bring this award-winning programming to Canada.”
The new network will also contain a library of previous FX favourites, and be available to Canadian viewers as a Rogers digital service.
Original FX series that will air on FX Canada will include the highly-anticipated new drama series American Horror Story, the hit comedy series Wilfred and the Emmy® Award nominated comedy Louie, starring Louis C.K.
