TORONTO, Ont. – A 25-year-old woman is in critical condition in hospital after she was struck by a vehicle on Lake Shore Boulevard West.
The woman was jogging from the north side of Lake Shore Blvd. to the south side, near Stadium Road, when she was struck by a red Toyota travelling east.
Sgt. John Winter with Traffic Services told 680News she was tossed into the air and thrown a distance up the road.
“It looks to me as if she was carried on the hood of the red car – you can see it’s severely impacted – I’m looking at at least 30-feet,” said Sgt. Winter.
The woman suffered life-threatening injuries.
Winter said there is no reason to believe the car involved was speeding and police are trying to access cameras in the area to see if the crash was caught on tape.
Police have closed off the eastbound lanes between Strachan Avenue and Stadium Road for their investigation.
