Maybe attending Toronto mayor Rob Ford’s annual barbeque was a bad idea for Progressive Conservative leader Tim Hudak.
A new Ipsos Reid poll suggests voters may punish the Hudak because of his ties with the Ford.
The survey revealed the majority of people living in Toronto are less likely to vote for the Ontario PC because Ford is mayor. Only one in 10 said the opposite.
Ipsos Reid CEO Darrell Bricker concluded the amount of voter anger in Ontario is not at the same level as it was in Toronto during the municipal election.
The survey also found that 55 per cent of majority of people said they will start paying closer attention to the election campaign around next Tuesday’s leadership debate.
The poll also found that NDP Leader Andrea Horvath is connecting with voters, with a majority saying they’d choose her over Liberal Leader Dalton McGuinty or Hudak when handing out the barbeque invitations.
The poll was done for Global News.
