Source: Pujols to visit with Marlins

MIAMI — A source requesting anonymity tells The Associated Press that free-agent slugger Albert Pujols was visiting the Florida Marlins on Friday.

The Marlins are expected to give Pujols a tour of their new ballpark, as they did earlier this week during visits by free-agents Jose Reyes and Mark Buehrle. It is unknown whether the Marlins planned to make a contract offer.

Pujols is a free agent for the first time after spending his first 11 seasons with the St. Louis Cardinals.

The 31-year-old first baseman and the Cardinals didn’t discuss a contract extension during the season, which ended with a World Series title.
