‘Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol’ leads weekend box office sales

Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol was the No. 1 movie at the U.S. domestic box office this weekend.
The four installment, which stars Tom Cruise, raked in $26.5 million US in its opening weekend, according to Box Office Mojo.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows and Alvin and the chipmunks: Chipwrecked rounded out the other top three sports, posting $17.8 million and $13.3 million, respectively.
The Hollywood version of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, which is based on the best-selling Swedish novel by Stieg Larsson, was fourth with $13 million.
Overall, box office ticket sales fell 4.5 per cent this year from a year ago, and were their lowest since 1995, according to Hollywood.com.
