Man charged after crash in Markham

It took emergency crews an hour to cut two people out of the wreckage of a single-vehicle crash in Markham Friday morning.

The accident happened on Alden Road, near Warden and 14th Avenue, around 3 a.m. when a car went off the road and slammed into a tree.

The two people in the car were taken to hospital with non life-threatening injuries. The male driver—said to be in his early 20s—was charged with dangerous driving.
