2 killed in Mississauga crash

Two men are dead after a crash in Mississauga late Friday night.
Around 11:45 p.m., the victims’ car flipped and landed on a residential front lawn on Erin Centre Boulevard, northeast of Ninth Line.
Both men were pronounced dead at the scene.
CityNews has learned one of the victims, 24-year-old Babar Akram, was a husband and father.
“He has a three-year-old daughter and a wife,” Akram’s cousin Tahreem Aziz told CityNews.
“She is very attached to her dad. She’s going to miss him.”
Akram was also one of five children of a Mississauga couple.
“I’m finished. He was my right hand,” Akram’s father Nazir said through a translator.
Akram’s friend, whose name has not been released, was 21 years old. Peel police said Saturday the 21-year-old was driving.
Witnesses said many drivers race through the area and speed may have caused the crash.
“We always have problems there, especially in the nighttime,” said resident Javid Khan. “People speed and you hear loud engine noises. And they don’t even stop at the stop signs.
“We have small kids and we always worry about our kids. [We tell them] not to go on the road.”
