Police draw guns on armed man outside Bridgepoint Health Centre

Police drew their guns during a tense take-down of an armed man on Monday.

The 54-year-old man was initially spotted inside the Bridgepoint Health Centre at 14 St. Matthews Rd., near Gerrard and Broadview. Calls to police said an armed man was wandering around inside the building.

He was arrested while attempting to hail a cab outside the hospital. No shots were fired during the take-down.

The accused, Russell Oram, is charged with threatening death, using an imitation firearm and weapons dangerous.

He is scheduled to appear in court Tuesday.
