Toy company TOMY issued a recall for some of its products, including wagons and tricycles, because the items contain barium.
The recall covers various ERTL-brand toys licensed by John Deere that were sold between September 2010 and September 2011— 1,881 units were sold. Health Canada is advising parents to stop their children from using the affected toys and contact TOMY.

“Children’s toys coated with paint containing barium in excess of the allowable limit are strictly prohibited in Canada,” Health Canada said in a release.
The products don’t meet barium testing standards set in Health Canada’s Toys Regulations in the Canada Consumer Products Safety Act.
TOMY Canada hired an independent toxicological firm to assess the barium levels in its toys.
“The independent firm concluded that the barium level does NOT pose a health risk to children given the intended and foreseeable use of these products,” TOMY said in a statement on its website.
