TTC says off-peak service cuts may still happen

The chair of the Toronto Transit Commission has said the $5-million restored to the TTC budget might not prevent off-peak service cuts planned for dozens of bus routes next month.

Karen Stintz said the money isn’t sustainable and using it to restore service would just delay the inevitable.

Instead, she told The Star she’d rather see it used to prevent wheel-trans service for dialysis patients from being cut.

The TTC will ultimately decide how the money should be spent.
