Firefighters extract two people after car strikes hydro pole

Firefighters worked to extract two people who had become trapped in a vehicle after it slammed into a hydro pole in Brampton Sunday.

The crash happened around 2 a.m. on Clarence Street at Rutherford Avenue.

It took more than an hour to free the driver and passenger from the vehicle, according to police officials.

An air ambulance was called but reports indicate it was eventually cancelled and the victims were taken to hospital.

The condition of the two and the cause of the accident is still unknown.
