A female passerby called 911 after discovering two dead men in the blood soaked stairwell of an underground parking garage on Monday.
The bodies were found at 325 Bogert Ave, near Yonge and Sheppard just before 4 p.m.
Forensic examinations haven’t taken place yet. Investigators say this is a homicide and it appears both men, believed to be in their late teens or early 20s, were shot to death.
“They were suffering from obvious gunshot wounds and they were pronounced at the scene,” said Det. Sgt. Hank Idsinga.
“I think it’s a targeted incident,” he added.
The victims have not been identified.
One area man said he heard the sound of multiple gunshots and police confirm several shell casings from a semi-automatic weapon have been recovered at the scene.
“We are very concerned, two men have died, we are dong everything possible to determine what the sequence of events were prior to their deaths,” said Const. Tony Vella.
Police are currently combing the area and searching nearby Earl Bales Park.
“We have some indication that some suspects were seen fleeing the west end of the building into the ravine area (of) Earl Bales Park,” Det. Sgt. Idsinga revealed.
Police are also looking over surveillance video and are hoping to release suspect descriptions in the near future.
